Anthony’s career started in natural resource management before completing more than 12 years in the emergency management sector. More recently, Anthony has returned to the natural environment as an Outdoor Education Facilitator for school and community groups.  He now manages quality assurance, special projects, our nature based activities, and the Dad Joke department of SALTIE!

In 2013, Anthony was awarded the National Emergency Medal for his contributions to the February 2009 Victorian bushfires.  Anthony has coordinated emergency responses and managed staff and volunteers in emergency service organisations.  He has also inspired and mentored many young people through outdoor experiences from single day to journey based programs.

Anthony’s experience has involved multi-agency settings and diverse environments, so communication and planning have been key to his achievements.  Anthony has worked with Bindaree Outdoor Education fostering relationships with schools and community groups to provide experiential learning in the outdoors.  He has also worked with the Victoria State Emergency Service providing advice, education, and training to various organisations. Anthony regularly performed the function of Regional Duty Officer and was responsible for the command and control oversight of emergency incidents across the metropolitan area.  Prior to VICSES Anthony has extensive experience with the Country Fire Authority in operational policy, planning and coordination.
