Clinical supervision creates supportive relationships

A strong supervisory relationship provides the platform for thoughtful development of health professionals practice and maintenance of self care. At the same time, supervisors ensure clients receive safe, caring and professional psychology services.

Our team can supervise individuals, dyads or groups. We provide external supervision to health professionals working in a variety of settings, including, disability, correctional, welfare, human services, family and clinical settings, as well as private practitioners. In 2020, we provided supervision to over 200 professionals – this level of supervisory experience is what makes SALTIE a popular choice.

Provisional Psychologist Internship Program

SALTIE act as primary and secondary supervisors to provisionally registered psychologists. These practitioners are undertaking their internships at other locations and we act as external supervisors in support of their registration pathway. Our service offering includes the opportunity to develop your skills in various psychological tasks under our supervision such as WAIS or other psychometric assessments.

Registrar Program

Psychologists with a special interest in certain practice areas often decide to seek endorsement in the field. This involves higher learning, according to the requirements of the appropriate APS College(s), followed by a period of advanced supervision. Our psychologists are approved to provide supervision in the practice areas of Clinical and Forensic Psychology.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

CPD is the leading way to ensure clients experience best practice when visiting the psychologist. Ongoing reflective practice facilitates learning, changes or consolidation of our practice.

Every SALTIE practitioner must accumulate a set period of professional development time annually. A blend of peer consultation and activities within the core area of practice is required. As well as undertaking our own internal and external supervision, SALTIE staff are available to provide clinical supervision to other experienced practitioners in the field.
